Cruises & Ferries

Cruises are one of the most popular ways to visit Alaska. Boarding a ship in Seattle, Vancouver or Victoria, BC makes the travel easy and you only have to unpack once! Gaze upon the snow capped Coastal Mountain Range as you cruise up Alaska’s Inside Passage and feel your cares melt away. Keep an eye out for whales, sea lions, porpoise, eagles & shorebirds as you travel from one unique destination to the next.

Skagway is one of the finest cruise ship ports in Southeast Alaska and a favorite with visitors and ship crew members alike. Docking space for 4 large ships and one small vessel is ¾ mile from the downtown historic district. Skagway’s level streets make it a pleasant walk from the ship or you can hop on Skagway's Municipal transit system, SMART bus to speed your way downtown.

Independent travelers can mix with the locals on the Alaska Marine Highway, our state-run ferry system. Providing year-round service between Alaska’s coastal communities and Bellingham Washington, Alaska’s ferries can accommodate cars & motorhomes. Private cabins are available onboard select vessels.

The 2023 Skagway cruise ship arrival schedule with daily passenger capacities is available on the Municipality of Skagway website
