Opportunity for Adventurers
The historic Chilkoot Trail is the ultimate adventure. Originally used as a trading route by the Tlingit people, the 33 mile long trail is now the longest outdoor museum in the world. Day visitors can explore the lower part of the trail independently or take a tour to hike up the first few miles, then float down the Taiya River to the wilderness area of Dyea. Other adrenaline-based tours include ziplining, rock climbing, glacier hikes, bike tours & ocean rafting adventures.
Entertaining the armchair explorer
Like your adventure a bit more laid back? The White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad offers a breathtaking journey up the White Pass of the Coastal Mountain Range onboard their narrow-gauge railroad. Bus & van tours venture up the mountain pass, into the Yukon where you can explore the millennia old village of Carcross.
